PUBLIC HEARING on ZONING AMENDMENTS

The Barnwell City Council will conduct a Public Hearing on February 2, 2026 at 5 PM at City Hall on recommendations from the City of Barnwell Planning Commission to change the zoning district of property owned by Barnwell County located at Wellington and Lake Drive TM# 072-08-01-022 from R-15 (Residential) to OSP (Open Space Preservation) and change the zoning district of property owned by Kingfisher Development near Turner Street and Reynolds Road Tax Map #s 072-11-07-039, 072-11-07-041, and 072-11-07-043 from R-15 (Residential) to RMF (General Residential). 

OSP District will allow publicly owned and operated parks or recreational facilities.

RMF District will allow without needing special exception or conditional use approval a single-family dwelling on a minimum of a 5000 square foot lot or a two family (duplex) or multi-family dwelling unit on a minimum 5000 square foot lot for the first dwelling unit and for each additional unit a minimum of a 2500 square foot lot. Maximum dwelling units per net acre is 12.
