The City of Barnwell is located on several major thoroughfares in the southwestern Savannah region of the state. US Highway 278 runs from Arkansas through Atlanta all the way to Hilton Head; highways 3 and 64 are connectors to other US Highways such as 78, 321, and 301. Barnwell has numerous historic homes and buildings with several listed on the National Historic Register. There are beautiful lakes, rivers and streams all around the area, including our 100 acre lake that is located in the center of town, Lake Edgar Brown. The City of Barnwell has several brochures about the community, one which contains a map of the historic areas of downtown for visitors. 

 

CITY OF BARNWELL HOSPITALITY TAX GRANT OPPORTUNITY

APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY August 15 of each year.

The City of Barnwell is accepting a limited number applications from organizations and entities to host events between October 1 to September 30 that will improve tourism opportunities within the City. The City anticipates being able to support only a limited number of events and is prioritizing reoccurring or annual events. Please review and complete the full application packet prior to submitting an application. Late submissions will not be accepted. Council will award grants on or by September 30. Please read thoroughly through the instructions to make sure you qualify. Application must be filled out completely to be considered.
