Basketball
The youth basketball program is for boys and girls ages four to fourteen. The rules are modified so that each child has a chance to play, compete and succeed.
2011 Season
(December 2010 – February 2011)
The last day to register for the 2011 season is November 30, 2010.
Leagues
*The age of the participant on February 28,2011 is in the age in which they participate.
Micros Ages 5-6 (co-ed)
Players play on 8 1/2 foot goals. Each player has a chance to play and have a good time interacting and learning the concept of the game.
Pee wee Ages 7-8 (co-ed)
Players play on 8 ½ foot goals. Each player has a chance to grasp a better concept of the basic rules of basketball. This league teaches the importance of playing by the rules. This league may travel to play games.
Misses Ages 9-12(all girls)
Players play on regulation goals. This league allows young ladies to compete with players of similar abilities. This league develops and enhances basic basketball knowledge and skills. This league may travel to play games.
Small Fry Ages 9-10 (all boys)
Players play on regulation goals. The small league allows each player to compete and develop leadership skills. This league may travel to play games.
Mites Ages 11-14 (all boys)
Players play on regulation goals. The mite league prepares the young men for middle school and high school level competition. This league may travel to play games.
Volunteer Coaches
If you are interested in coaching, volunteer applications must be submitted to the Parks & Recreation Department by November 19th. There will be a mandatory coaches meeting on December 2 from 6p – 8p at Barnwell City Hall.
