Part-Time Employment

For the position of:         SUMMER DAY CAMP SUPERVISOR

ABOUT THE POSITION

Applicant will be responsible for supervision of children ages 5-12 in an active environment facilitating recreational activities such as board games, sports, arts & crafts, special events and chaperone field trips. Employee will serve as a positive role model for program participants,  promote and ensure City of Barnwell and Day Camp policies and procedures are followed. Supervisors will have additional responsibilities such as staff supervision, program development and miscellaneous paperwork.   Work is performed under the direction of the Director of Parks and Recreation.

 Temporary Part-time employment will not lead to permanent employment.   Part-time employees do not receive benefits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience: Applicant must have a high school diploma/equivalent, and have previous experience leading children in a recreational or educational setting.  

Preferred Qualifications: Energetic, organized and enthusiastic applicants with previous experience leading children in a recreational or educational setting.  

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license, First Aid & CPR certification required.

Working conditions: This position may work mornings and afternoons. Summer Day Camp hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am – 5:30pm. 

Background Investigations: Employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Applicant will be responsible for assisting the camp supervisor to coordinate all aspects of the summer day camp program. This applicant should have experience programming activities for youth ages 5 – 12, ability to organize group activities, ability to work independently on duties assigned, ser serve as a positive role model for participants promoting and ensuring City of Barnwell and Day Camp policies and procedures are followed.   

Work is performed under the direction of the Day Camp Supervisor.

You are invited to submit sealed bids in accordance with the requirements that are contained herein.

Bid Packages are available by contacting Michael Shumaker at (803) 259-3317, or at Barnwell City Hall 130 Main St Barnwell, South Carolina 29812.

Bids must be sealed and Labeled “City of Barnwell Parks & Recreation Department Athletic Equipment”.  It is required that your sealed bids be submitted and received by the Barnwell City Hall 130 Main St. Barnwell S.C. 29812, no later than 12:00 p.m. May 6, 2013.  Bid Opening will be at12:00p.m. May 6, 2013 at the Barnwell City Hall.

This solicitation does not commit the City of Barnwell to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a sealed bid, or to procure or contract for services.

The City of Barnwell reserves the right to reject any or all sealed bids if in the best interest of the City and to disqualify any company that does not comply with the provisions of the invitation for bids
