Personnel
The City of Barnwell contracts with an outside agency for garbage and general trash pickup. Fennell Container collects commercial dumpsters. Suburban Disposal collects roll carts, residential and business.
Garbage Collection
Curbside Pickup
Household Garbage is collected Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday (except holidays). Yard Trash is removed on Wednesday for residents who normally have their household garbage collect on Monday or Friday, and on Saturday for those whose trash is collected on Tuesday or Thursday. Metal trash is collected the last Saturday of the month upon request to City Hall. Tree limbs cut to 5 ft or less in length/5 inches or less in diameter and bagged yard debris < 35 lbs. that is moved to the road by the resident will be removed. Furniture will be removed along with yard trash, with some exceptions (batteries, tires, paint cans, and other similar hazardous materials). Construction material (i.e. building wood, fences, concrete, etc…) or any material placed by a Contractor will not be removed.
Cemeteries
The City owns and maintains one cemetery, Barnwell cemetery, just above Fuller Park.
